Presented by P.P.D. Productions, the evening kicked off with an opening number by Dead Swanky, four beautiful young dancers from North London who warmed the audience up into 'the groove'.
The lights dimmed, the music started, the voice of an angel could be heard - but not yet seen.
From the back of the room, Jia walked, singing, greeting friends, never missing a beat, the applause rose in volume to creschendo as she reached the bright lights on the edge of the stage. The first song, Once in a lifetime was all about how great love can be when it's right. A haunting ballad written by Jia (music and lyrics) and arranged by Al Cherin.
The second song was more up-tempo, along with her backing vocalists JWLS, a thumping song about love - but not the right love "Gett'n Outta My Way" by Lee Curle.
Next a classic song covered in a very different way, arranged by Cham Newhouse, Free was performed with the Dead Swanky girls swarming and pulsating around Jia.
Don't miss it !
